Paige Zhu is a sophomore at Phillips Academy Andover. She has qualified for the AIME since 6th grade, receiving the Two Sigma AMC10 Award in 2022 and the D.E Shaw Group AMC8 Certificate in 2023. She has also qualified for MATHCOUNTS State 3 years in a row, and ranked top 10 as an individual. Paige also served as the school math team captain leading to their third place win at MATHCOUNTS state and the Montgomery County Middle School Math League Championship. Besides math, Paige loves programming, singing, playing cello and piano. Paige will be teaching ELMO and AMCS this summer.
Amber Weng is a sophomore at Winston Churchill High School. She is passionate about competition math, physics, and other STEM related activities. Amber has a lot of experience tutoring both school and competition math through her experience working as a math tutor. She is currently the captain of Churchill's math team. She has qualified for the AIME, MATHCOUNTS State competition, and has also been an ARML participant for 3 years. Aside from math, Amber loves doing robotics and playing the cello. Amber will be teaching ELMO, MATHCOUNTS, and Science Bowl this summer.
Sophie Zhao is a sophomore at Winston Churchill High School. She enjoys biology, chemistry, and math. She has volunteered in her former middle school’s science department for three years and been a member of the math team for two years. She also enjoys reading, golfing, and participating in youth orchestra. Sophie will be teaching Science Bowl this summer.
Andy Yan is a sophomore at Montgomery Blair High School. He has been on his school's Varsity Math Team since 6th grade and has participated in various competitions, including MATHCOUNTS, AMC, and ARML. Andy has achieved the Distinguished Honor Roll in AMC8 multiple times, Distinction in AMC10, and qualification for AIME. Beyond competition math, Andy has leadership and tutoring skills through working as a summer camp counselor for younger children. During his free time, he enjoys playing clarinet, piano, and tennis. Andy will be teaching AMCS and Python this summer.
Thomas Yao is a sophomore at Montgomery Blair High School. He enjoys robotics, and competition math. He has experience teaching math and robotics to elementary school students in the past. He has qualified for AIME and placed in the top 10 at MATHCOUNTS states. Outside of math, Thomas enjoys playing flute and doing random shenanigans. Thomas will be teaching ELMO, Python, and Introduction to CAD this summer.
Sophiana Jiang is a sophomore at Richard Montgomery High School. She has enjoyed participating in math competitions since elementary school and has earned distinctions in MATHCOUNTS, AMCs, ARML, DMM, and more. Currently, she is a dedicated coach for her middle school’s MATHCOUNTS team. In her free time, she enjoys swimming, traveling, and spending time with her friends and family. Sophiana will be teaching AMCS this summer.
Mason is a sophomore at Montgomery Blair High School. He enjoys math and programming competitions as well as creating original games. Similarly, he plans to attend the Cyber-Physical Systems Engineering summer program at the University of Maryland. His tutoring experience includes teaching elementary students in the DC Steel City Codes program for multiple years. Beyond his academic pursuits, Mason plays AA hockey and watches an embarrassing number of NHL games. Mason will be teaching Python this summer.
Sam is a sophomore at Montgomery Blair High School. He enjoys competition math, and has participated in math competitions since elementary school, including MATHCOUNTS, ARML, AMC8/10, and various college competitions such as HMMT and CMIMC. He also engages in programming competitions, such as USACO and Codeforces. Aside from academics, he enjoys running, listening to music, and spending time with friends. Sam will be teaching Python and AMCS this summer.
Evan Zhang is a junior at Montgomery Blair High School. He has participated in many math competitions since elementary school, and has qualified for the USAJMO. Evan has taught many math classes for Magnificent Math, also coaching his middle school's Mathcounts team for the past 2 years. Outside of math, Evan enjoys playing Science Bowl, helping his team place top 6 in the national competition. He also likes Earth and space science as well as physics. Evan will be teaching AMCs this summer.
Katherine Zhang is a sophomore at Winston Churchill High School. She is passionate about chemistry, biology, and STEM. She has 4 years of experience in Science Olympiad, winning multiple medals at the state level, and 1 year of experience teaching it. Katherine additionally has 4 years and over 175 SSL hours of tutoring experience. She has competed in FTC robotics for 2 years, making it to the State competition both times. Besides STEM, Katherine enjoys playing the viola and public speaking.
